What If We Join Together to [re]?

At Project [re], we believe design can do more than shape buildings — it can shape futures.
In Houston, the numbers tell a clear story. More than 320,000 households are cost-burdened, and only 39 % of families can afford a median-priced home. Even with new Chapter 42 reforms encouraging small-scale, community-oriented housing, the region still needs tens of thousands of attainable units each year to keep pace with demand.
Across the world, Kenya faces a housing deficit exceeding 2 million homes, with only about 50,000 built annually — most beyond reach for low-income residents. More than 4 million people live in informal settlements, and financing remains a major barrier for first-time homeowners.
Project [re] sees these parallel challenges as a shared opportunity: to rethink housing models, rebuild trust, and restore dignity through resilient, human-centered design. Whether revitalizing Houston’s East End or developing adaptive housing prototypes in Kenya, our work brings life to the new, the old, and the unseen — proving that thoughtful design can close the gap between vision and viability.
Together, we can [re]shape how communities live, build, and belong.
